Born Again

Gizmo Varillas

Muisca Records

Released: Single & Album: Out now

We say With the summer season in full swing and lockdown easing, Born Again by Spanish-born multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Gizmo Varillas is the perfect antidote to the strange times of late. Backed by an infectious beat and driven by dueling funk and reggae guitar melodies, the track builds gloriously to an upbeat crescendo. Brimming with positivity and empowerment, it’s the kind of track that will resonate with people across the globe and one that we need right now. Tailor-made for radio, the track from his third album Out of the Darkness has already received support across Radio 2 (Jo Whiley & Craig Charles), 6 Music (Tom Robinson & Chris Hawkins) and been placed on the A-list at BBC Radio Wales. Further tastemaker praise for his album and previous singles have come from Mojo, Classic Pop, Spotify (A Perfect Day, Indie List) and Apple Music (Breaking Singer-songwriter), all of which have helped him surpass 30m combined streams recently. A joyful and triumphant single.
